In response to the industry’s growing concern for fuel effeciencies, Hendrickson Bumper and Trim commissioned two SAE J1321 Type II fuel consumption tests to prove that a metal bumper could provide the look, durability and ground clearance desired while not degrading the fuel consumption on a given vehicle. Each fuel consumption test utilized identical vehicles with one variable, a control vehicle with a factory supplied plastic bumper providing a baseline and a test vehicle utilizing an AERO CLAD® bumper. Two separate tests were run in the spring and fall of 2012. Both independent tests had the same conclusive results.
Hendrickson replacement bumpers are available through the OEM truck dealer network and can be ordered through the dealer network ship direct program or the Parts Distribution Centers (PDC).
Unless specific hardware is supplied with your bumper, Hendrickson recommends using the OEM mounting bolts and torque specifications. Additionally, we recommend using nylon or plastic washers between any hardware that contacts the outer surface of your bumper.
